The files below show 25 properties from the previous list of almost 300. These properties were picked because they may either be good potentials for building or remodeling as the prices seem pretty good or they may be somewhat nicer, larger homes that may only need a little work or be in move in condition. Generally speaking, as the prices got higher I started looking for better homes. The locations are generally good as well.

Please note that the searches have been changed to no longer look at home size. Previous searches looked for homes at least 2,500 SF. There may be some potentially nice properties with a smaller home. One might be able to expand the home or simply rebuild if the price is right. However, I suspect that some additional search criteria will need to be added as the search now brings up close to 300 properties.

There are a few homes that came up in this week's searches that may be of interest. These homes are listed below.

2206 Coastland Avenue in San Jose is a 3 bed/2.5 bath 3,141 SF home on a large 27,225 SF Lot with an askig price of $1,275,000. It seems like this property would have a large, private backyard with room for building a work shop or other structures. It is an older home, but certainly looks like it's been well maintained and restored over the years. This one may be worth a look.

10377 Amistad Court in Cupertino is a 5 bed/3.5 bath home on a 22,000 SF lot with an asking price of $1,495,000. It goes to great schools, including Monta Vista High School. The google map view shows what looks like much useable land. There's much landscaping right around the home, but what looks like an empty lot with just a few trees just south of the home is also part of this parcel. This too may be worth a look. Currently, no pictures of this property are posted to the MLS.

Finally, 14411 Quito Road in Saratoga just showed up on this week's searches. The price of this short sale property was recently lowered to $1,499,000. It's a 4 bed/2.5 bath 3,360 SF home on an almost one acre, 41,817 SF lot.

15970 Flintlock Road in Cupertino is a 2,578 SF, 4 bed (although one without a closet)/2 bath home in the Cupertino hills sitting on a roughly six acre lot. It's located about 8.5 miles/25 minutes from the main Apple Computer headquarters. MLS page and pictures of this property follow:

2192 Briar Hills Court in San Jose did finally close escrow. It had been listed for $1,388,000 and it sold for $1,400,000

2192 Briar Hills Court in San Jose was changed from Pending/Show to Pending/No Show. The close of escrow is listed as March 16th. This was the property on almost a 30,000 SF lot with the basketball court, large flat grassy back yard and steps climbing up the hilly portion of the lot. All indications are that this one will sell, but I'll of course keep an eye on it...

2090 Wendover Lane in San Jose came on the market today and it may be of interest. It's a 5 bed/3.5 bath 3,245 SF, 11 year old home on a 15,246 SF lot. There's a huge flat backyard, but only what looks like a two car garage. It's located just east of 101 a bit north of the homes we looked at last weekend. It's a normal sale with an asking price of $1,099,000.

A home in a wonderful location came on the market this evening. 20847 Garden Gate Drive in Cupertino is a 4 bed/3 bath 16 year old, 2,886 SF home on a 10,950 SF lot. There seems to be a good sized back yard with a gazebo and room for a garden. Cupertino schools and Monta Vista High School. The asking price is $1,425,000. This home may be shown after March 4th.

Another home in a nice location is 1821 Campbell Avenue in San Jose. This is a 3 bed/3.5 bath 2,798 SF home on a 13,750 SF lot. However, there's a huge front yard and an in ground pool, so there doesn't seem to be as much backyard space as the lot say might imply. This $1,100,000 can be viewed after making an appointment.

4936 Eastbourne Court in San Jose is an 11 year old, 3 bed/5.5 bath 4,569 SF home on a 14,900 SF lot. This is a bank owned property. It came on the market two weeks ago, but went pending a day later. For whatever reason the transaction fell through and it's available again. They are requesting a highest and best offer by March 3rd at 1:00 pm - this leads me to believe that they're hoping to simply accept the best offer and don't want to make counter offers (although they could always make counter offers if they wanted to once they see any offers.) They're also requesting that anyone submitting an offer be pre-approved with their lender. One wouldn't need to use this lender to get the mortgage if one didn't want to, but it's a way that the seller can insure a potential buyer is qualified.

12000 South El Monte Road in Los Altos Hills mentioned on January 25th went pending yesterday after being on the market for one week.

350 Vista Ridge Drive in Milpitas, the bank owned property mentioned on January 23rd is now shown as a cancelled listing. It went pending on the 26th, but came back on the market yesterday. Earlier today the asking price was lowered to $949,905, but then shortly afterwards the listing was cancelled. I don't know if it's truly cancelled or if that was some sort of error while updating the MLS - I'll keep an eye on it...

1548 McCoy Avenue in San Jose is a conveniently located, newly remodeled 2,655 SF home on a 13,503 SF lot. This 3 bed/3.5 bath home has a two car attached garage and a one car detached garage. An appointment needs to be made for viewing.

4020 Soelro Court in San Jose is a 3,699 SF, 5 bed/4 full bath home with an asking price of $1,398,000 that sits on a 54,014 SF lot. Like a number of homes in this area it has wonderful valley views.
